The Smart Specialisation Platform on Energy (S3PEnergy) commits to provide specific support to these thematic fields of Smart Specialisation through inter-regional cooperation. Accordingly, the S3PEnergy extends this invitation to all EU Regions interested in joining these thematic inter-regional cooperation groups. It also also welcomes other inter-regional cooperation proposals around specific Smart Specialisation priorities.
Objective of the invitation: to facilitate inter-regional cooperation among EU regions having similar Smart Specialisation priorities in the energy field.
To whom is addressed this invitation? Entities representing regional public administration such as innovation and energy agencies, research centres and universities. Other type of institutions (e.g. associations) would participate on the basis of an agreement with represented regions.
How to proceed?
- First step: get in contact with S3PEnery team by sending a message to this e-mail address: [email protected]
- Second step: the S3PEnergy will facilitate the exchange with other regions manifesting similar interests. Regions among themselves will then start the reflections about the operational work of their selected group/s (e.g. leadership and co-leadership, governance system, roadmaps, rules, etc). One region may participate in one or several inter-regional cooperation groups.
- Third step: a kick-off meeting for each working group will take place over the months of October-November 2016. Interested regions will be informed accordingly.
Since its launching in May 2015, the Smart Specialisation Platform on Energy (S3PEnergy) has supported inter-regional cooperation around specific Smart Specialisation priorities on energy
On the occasion of the High Level Conference on Smart Regions (1st June 2016, Brussels), the interest to establish inter-regional partnerships aiming at strengthening implementation of Smart Specialisation was confirmed in the following 4 inter-regional S3 groups: Bioenergy, Sustainable Construction, Marine Off-shore and Smart-Grids.
S3PEnergy is the space where Member States, regions and community members receive support for the optimal and effective uptake of Cohesion Funds for sustainable energy. The S3PEnergy also promotes energy innovation activities at national, regional and local level through the identification of technologies and innovative solutions that support, in the most cost-effective way, the EU energy policy priorities.
