Sustainable City Development Conference “Local implementation of the UN’s sustainable goals”
The UN’s new 17 global sustainability goals mean local challenges and Climate-KIC’s City partner Malmö lacks neither the will or initiative to achieve them. Climate-KIC is supporting the Malmö municipality in organising an international conference on how cities can work with global development and how they have made the UN’s goals their own on the road to becoming a sustainable city.
The programme for the conference has nine themes and will be introduced by inspiring keynote speakers. Through concrete experiences, examples and research, discussions and reflections, you can get ideas on how cities can work towards the global sustainability goals and make them their own. The conference is intended for those working in the public and private sectors, academia and civil society.
The Sustainable City Development Conference 2016 is part of the international SBE series of conferences focusing on a sustainable built environment. It will be a meeting point for researchers and practitioners as we believe that there is high potential to discuss and co-create new ideas and solutions. There will also be exhibitors on site with inspirational examples.
Call for Abstracts
We welcome abstracts from both researchers and practitioners in the themes listed below. The conference will provide an opportunity to present, discuss and reflect on the best practices as well as theoretical advances in the field of sustainable city development and the relationship between cities and universities. How do we collectively and strategically advance sustainable city development?
We invite contributions on case studies as well as contributions focusing on conceptual and methodological challenges. Abstracts should match one of the conference themes; authors are invited to specify their contribution to the building, city or citizen perspectives.
